In Real Analysis The Struggle Is Real

Last 2014 I took Real Analysis with Professor Jonald Fenecios, he prepared spectacular notes, had a real passion for the material, and I was fortunate to have a wonderful professor for that class. I could not be happier that I decided to take the course that honestly was challenging, downright intimidating, and overbearing at times. The material was based on one-variable calculus and the focus of the class was to teach you how to write proofs and not necessarily focus on the actual calculus material as being difficult ( the class was difficult as I thought it would be lol ).      I was used to being able to easily grasp things without much practice, but this class was a whole monster by itself. I needed to learn not only techniques, but I had to learn the new notations, the difference between evaluating and proving. I have about three notebooks worth of me going through practice problems using the various techniques we used ( btw, I still have it! ). ...

Mathematics is Serious

I've been a lover of numbers since I was a kid, it was my dream to become a Math teacher one day. Some of the things that I noticed from transitioning from Grade School Math to High School Math was how  different they were from each other.  Because of the enjoyment I get while doing Math, I was pretty much sure that I would like to major in math someday and if possible go to a graduate school in mathematics which all I did.      When I encountered Logic for the first time a few years back (college), I realized how  useful it is in the world of mathematics. Logic is the study of how to critically think about propositions or statements that are either true or false. Mathematicians use logic all the time to prove theorems and other mathematical facts. Everything we know about math right now is based off of these logical proofs. Without these, we wouldn't have our formulas, like the quadratic formula or the Pythagorean Theorem.  Hones...

A Little Bit About Me

I used to teach different areas in Math to education and engineering students at St. John Paul College of Davao for almost two years,  a private school that paid well and offered many opportunities for professional development,  and I decided to quit  and become an online Math Instructor since 2018.  Teaching is a noble profession and I love it. It is such a joy  to see my students grow in their understanding of the subject, or to have their parents tell me that my student made a perfect score on their tests.  Over the years, I have learned that one of the most important things I can do for my students is to engage them by making math relevant to their lives. One of my goal is for my students to become confident and independent learners.       I received a bachelor of science  in Mathematics degree from Ateneo de Davao University and earned a 30-units Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from University of Southeas...
